The transition to ACE is well underway, and Questaweb is here to support our customers as they move from ACS to ACE. We want to assure not only minimal interruption to your business but also the smoothest transition possible.
As CBP’s calendar indicates, on February 28, 2016 will mark the first mandatory date where filers will no longer be permitted to use ACS. The increment release will also include the electronic filing for FDA, NHTSA, and APHIS. Filing for remaining OGA data will follow in July 2016 with the indicated increment release.
How to Prepare
We encourage all self-filers and Brokers to begin submitting ACE entries and entry summaries during this time period to become familiar with the transaction processing under the new system.

Remember that CBP is scheduling ACE outreach sessions and communicating information via CSMS. You also can contact your local port directly for information on outreach sessions scheduled in your area.

Q: Do we need to notify our ABI representative of our intent to file ACE?
A: All filer codes are available to file via ACE at this time; however, we do encourage you to communicate with your ABI representative
Q: Where is the ACE Error Dictionary located?
A: The ACE Error Dictionary is located on CBP’s website: http://www.cbp.gov/document/guidance/ace-catair-error-dictionary
Q: Will ACE responses from CBP be similar to those for ACS?
A: There is a change in the message sets from CBP. This information is located in CATAIR.
Q: What are the options for Document Imaging System (DIS)?
A: CBP provides an email format for DIS; more information can be found in CSMS 15-000531. QuestaWeb offers a module for document submittal via DIS. If you would like further information or a demo, please contact our customer service staff for further information at 1-908-233-2300 ext 2.
Q: Will ACE replace AESDirect?
A: AESDirect will integrate into the ACE Secure Data portal.
Q: How do I provide release data if the 3461 is no longer a valid document?
A: CBP allows non-automated entities to accept screen prints of the cargo release with a clear indication of the shipment ID, quantity being released and who is presenting the release. Q: Is the Post Entry Amendments (PEA) still in use?
A: The Post Summary Correction (PSC) replaces the Post Entry Amendments (PEA).
