Global Trade Management Solution Deployment Options
Internet-based systems are the ultimate technology for global trade management (GTM) applications that automate import and export processes. The rationale is simple: Global goods movement requires multiple supply chain partners located across the globe to collaborate. Only a web-native system affords the functionality for these partners to enter their input securely in real time, keeping everyone in the supply chain as up to date as possible with accurate information.
QuestaWeb’s web-native global trade management solutions can be hosted on our cloud or self-hosted by our customer. Regardless of deployment option, users have the ability to access the software over the Internet using only a web browser.
On the QuestaWeb Cloud (QuestaWeb Hosted)
The QuestaWeb-hosted model for global trade management solutions is sometimes called Software as a Service (SaaS). In this arrangement, the solution is housed on QuestaWeb’s cloud, which resides in QuestaWeb’s secure data center. QuestaWeb maintains the application as well as the supporting hardware and software. Customers install and maintain communication access (personal computers, routers, high-speed Internet lines, etc.) and pay transaction fees.
Customer Hosted (Self-Hosted)
The customer-hosted deployment model is also known as the self-hosted or licensed model. Here, the customer acquires software licenses and enters into a maintenance agreement with QuestaWeb. The solution is maintained on the customer’s premises behind its firewall, and the customer owns the hardware and databases. QuestaWeb fully supports the licensed software application.
