Global Trade Management Solution Implementation Methodology
QuestaWeb begins every implementation with a kickoff meeting. Here, the assigned QuestaWeb team, comprised of a senior analyst and project manager, meets with the client project manager and IT and operations personnel to whiteboard the client’s unique processes and procedures. Because QuestaWeb’s technology is rule based, the system can accommodate most business processes our clients employ. Thus, in transitioning to our global trade management technology, QuestaWeb can minimize disruptions to back-office systems and in-place processes in most implementations.
The kickoff meeting serves to identify key stakeholders and ultimately yields the blueprint for ongoing implementation efforts for the selected global trade management solution. The resulting project management document identifies roles and responsibilities, tasks, milestones, gaps and a projected “go live” date.
QuestaWeb understands the importance of training in gaining user acceptance. Thus, emphasis is placed on scheduling training, both on site and over the web, so that the client fully understands how the software works. Initiating training early in the implementation process enhances the client’s ability to assist systems integration with the ERP, WMS or MRP, especially in mapping information flow. It also facilitates systems testing.
In the testing phase, information flow is verified as correct. Once testing is complete, the “mock live” phase begins. Here, all the business processes are validated by users performing typical day-to-day tasks to assure everything is operating properly before actual “go live.” Once proof of production is complete and final modifications are made, the system is ready to go live.
For new companies acquiring QuestaWeb’s global trade management solutions, key steps will involve setting up users and client accounts prior to system go live. For established companies transitioning to QuestaWeb technology, discussions will focus on what data will be brought over to the QuestaWeb system.
